NOTD: Every grey cloud has a silver lining

Ok, this is not quite the awesome sauce filled post I had planned, but I do have one coming. I just wanted to post a nail of the day because I quite like how my nails look today.

I love grey, don’t ask me why, because I have absolutely no idea, but it does in turn mean that I adore grey nail polish. So I was quite disappointed to realise that I only currently have 2 grey polishes in my collection right now, Rimmel 60 seconds Grey Matter and Collection Angel Wings. Rimmel Grey Matter is what I have used today. This polish applies really beautifully and I have never had any problems with it. It also helps that it dries super quick.

Another thing I love, is stamping. I only came across stamping a few weeks before I started this blog, and I love, love, love it. I find it really easy to do and love that it looks like I have spent hours doing really intricate designs when I haven’t, sometimes I get very lazy with my nails, so this helps them not look pants. Last night was one of those lazy nights.

I used Barry M Foil Effects Silver to do the stamp. I don’t actually own any proper stamping polishes, and I find that the best normal polishes for stamping are the Barry M special effects.

I used this stamping plate

Enlarge to see designs better.

I used the swirly design in the top right corner of the plate. I’m pretty sure this is a Fauxnad plate, I can’t be 100% but I think I have seen the Konad that has these designs on it. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

This is what I ended up with.

I love the way the silver sits on the grey background, and I like that you almost can’t tell which colour is stamped. I have used  this stamp multiple times before, this is one of my favourite designs.

I think I need to find a new back drop for my pics, the mingy concrete of my patio doesn’t quite inspire the prettiness does it? lol

I wanted to show you how different it can look in the shadow and the light. It the shadow, it kind of has a matte look to it. yummy. Loving the matte look right now.
Hopefully, if you enlarged the pictures to get a better look at the design, you will have noticed that i have attempted to add a watermark to the images. If you think this is a watermark fail on my part, please let me know.
I would love to see some of your favourite stamped designs and what stamping plates are your favourite. Do you love stamping as much as i do?
Hope you liked my NOTD and that you have been thoroughly enjoying your weekend.
:)x

  1. This looks great I love Greys too, so much so that my bedroom is decorated in shades of grey and silver! I've not tried stamping yet but it's on my list of things to try! x

  2. Thank you. Stamping is really good and you can pick up plates cheap from eBay for around £2.87 if you don't mind waiting a little for them to arrive from Hong Kong and you can get the stamper from around a quid. I recommend it even just to try. :)x
