The heat has zapped all motivation and ability from me lately and I have really been struggling to do much of anything, let alone nail art. But I wanted to at least start this week being more productive and the best way for me to do that, is to do something I love, MST3K!
Ever since I found out that Espionage Cosmetics did MST3K nail wraps for when the The Return was in the Kickstarter stage, I have wanted MST3K nails and since I haven’t been able to find the nail wraps, I had to do my own. I am a huge fan of the show, both the classic and the newly revived. I really love Rifftrax too, if you don’t know what that is but you’re a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, definitely check it out, you won’t regret it, oh and bonus, there’s loads of Rifftrax on Prime Video so if you have that, you’re on to a winner.
Not long ago, when Zen Monkey Studios were wrapping up their MST3K line of merch, I grabbed the things that I could because I needed at least some of them in my life before they disappeared forever. One of the items I bought was an amazing Crow T. Robot pin badge, which I did have a picture of with my nails, but it would not colour correct at all so I have scrapped that photo. Anyway, it came on this fun backing card and this was my inspiration.
I don’t know why it has taken me this long to get round to doing them. Maybe it’s because I am running out of all of my blue creams, well, all of my creams really, and I can’t find substitutes that I like enough. Or maybe I am just a really lazy blogger. But they turned out WAY better than I had imagined and to be fair it has given me a little boost.
Ok, so yes, there is a seat between Jonah and Servo, but that’s fine. And yes, ok, Servo’s head seems to have grown exponentially, but it’s close enough that I am happy with them.
The Crow nail is my absolute favourite, he basically turned out perfect, I am so happy with him and it’s fantastic because Crow is obviously my favourite. I am just waiting for the next season, or for the next lot of classic episodes to be put up. I have watched The Return and The Gauntlet quite a lot by now, so much that it could be classed as embarrassing, so I am ready for more. Also, Netflix, if you’re by any chance reading this, please put The Pumaman back on, it is the best episode by far, ever, don’t even @ me!
