I constantly feel like I am neglecting the nerdy side of my nails, so every now and then I sit down with my nail art book and my stamping plates and recent buys and calendar and try to come up with at least one nerdy design. I had these Metal Gear Solid stamps on one of my massive AliExpress plates and they proper called out to me, I had an instant design in mind, and because Metal Gear Solid is 20 years old this year (if you go by the Japanese release) I thought it was about time I did some.
I started with a base of Barry M Cotton, then I sponged on some Barry M Chai, continually sponging until it started pulling some of the colour back off, this gave it a cool smokey look. I topped this with a coat of Seche Vite, then once dry I stamped on my designs using Moyou Black Knight (with a spot of Beauty Big Bang Red stamping polish on Solid Snake’s face) and topped with another coat of Seche Vite. Then I grabbed Decoy Dog and bosh, mani complete, and I love it.
I wanted to keep it simple for most of the mani and it was inspired by a little bit of a couple of the game box art’s combined, can you guess which ones? Are you a fan of the Metal Gear Solid Franchise?
