Born Pretty Store Silver Mirror Polish

Go on, admit it, just like every other nail polish addict out there, you have been dreaming of a mirrored nail polish. We all hoped believed it would happen and now it has. Born Pretty Store released this polish which comes in 2 parts. You get a base coat and a polish bottle (mine were unmarked but if you buy, they are marked as far as I know) and as far as I can tell, the base coat is like an activator.
I first thought that it was a polish and a top coat, when I applied the polish this way, it just looked like a regular, boring silver polish but when I realised what it was and switched it round it was pretty freakin’ cool.
I applied the base coat and let that completely dry which took a good 10-15 mins, it has barely any smell to it and is completely clear, Then I applied the polish, now the polish itself, in the bottle, looks like really thin, watery paint almost like spray paint, it’s runny and you can barely see that it is silver.
Once I applied it to my nail on top of the base coat it transformed magically in front of my eyes. It only took a matter of seconds but the runny paint stuff changed into a beautiful, shiny and reflective surface. I’m being serious you guys, it was crazy and I really wish I did videos and had steady hands so I could capture the transformation.
The finish was on par with those mirrored plastic press on nails that we all made do with until the real thing happened. I’m still in awe of it.

Look at this shot! That is my reflection in my nails, that’s how shiny it is! I did attempt to add a topcoat but it completely dulled the finish and turned it into a regular polish again, so it’s likely that this is a special occasion polish rather than a long lasting day to day polish! I do think it would look fab with some black stamped nail art, but I forgot to try that so I’m not sure how it would react to the stamping.
I do want to mention that these polishes do not have ingredients listed and getting polishes from other countries is always a little bit of a risk, there are chemicals in other countries that have been banned here and testing standards can be different elsewhere too. I was a little dubious about wearing this polish just because of this, especially because it is something this magical, how did they do it? Why has no one else done it? I didn’t have any kind of reaction but I will always be a little paranoid and you should be too, if you ever get strange feelings when wearing polish take it off immediately and wash your hands and under your nails thoroughly.
If you want to have beautiful mirrored nails too, you can find this polish here for £6.51/$9.99 (it is currently on sale) Don’t forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off non sale items.
What do you think of this polish? Have Born Pretty Store nailed it?
Stay Shiny…
