I love the sheet water decals from Born Pretty Store. I like that you can cut from whatever part you want and place it anywhere on any nail you want and this smoky style one looked beautiful, so I had to give it a go.
The first thing I noticed which I was a little bit gutted about, was that the writing shown above was actually printed onto the decal. This meant that quite a fair chunk of the decal was lost to this.
The quality of the decal was pretty good, it took a little longer than usual for the decal to come off the backing, but it applied to the nail nicely, dried relatively quickly making adhering to the nail easier and with minimal curling and creasing. Then once applied, any excess was easily wiped away with a nail brush and some acetone/nail polish remover.
I did originally try the decals over a silver basecoat but it was too dark to show the colours, so I would recommend sticking to lighter colours underneath.
When I applied the Seche topcoat, it did melt away some of the bits that has creased leaving gaps through to the base coat, so I would probably recommend using a regular topcoat instead.
These decals would make a great base for some nail art, however, this is what happens when MS takes over and you’re too stubborn to leave the nail stuff for the day and attempt some nail art anyway.
My Brain couldn’t function and my hands weren’t behaving either, so I ended up with this disaster.
I used the tentacle dotty design from Bundle Monster BM-607 and stamped random sections of the design over random areas of the nails using Barry M Silver Foil. The I went over each nail again with a random bit using Konad White Stamping Polish.
The thumb did turn out quite pretty though and this is what I had intended it to look like originally over all the nails but alas, it shall go down as my first proper nail fail of 2015.
If you would like to buy this smoky decal sheet you can find it here for £0.65 ($0.99) There are 12 designs to choose from but this smoky one is number 179 on the option list.
