This pic might look a bit blurry but shows the glitter really well. |
I don’t know if you know this about me, but I’m quite the fan of Textured Polishes. I’ve been after a Black one for a while now, but not willing to pay the price of the Nails Inc leather Polishes, and I was kind of hoping Barry M would bring one out in their winter collection, but with no luck on that front, when I spotted OPI emotions, I decided to buy it because they do textured polishes really well.
I used 2 coats in this pic. |
Emotions is part of the Mariah Carey 2013 Holiday Collection (See swatches of the whole collection @Polishaholic) It is a black textured polish with matte hex glitter through it, part of OPI’s Liquid Sand Collection.
It has a great formula, which applied smoothly and evenly, being opaque in 2 coats and it dries pretty quickly to the sandy texture. Although in these pictures you can’t see the glitter very well, when the sun does peek out, as in-frequent as that is, it looks really pretty and reminds me of coal.
Here is a close up of one nail so you can see the texture. It looks really raised in this pic for some reason but it’s not really that bumpy and the glitter is what gives it that slightly wet look.
No pics of Emotions with a topcoat, because even with the glitter, when a topcoat is applied, it just looks like a standard black creme polish.
I wore this for 4 days and by the time I took it off I had very minimal corner wear, even after doing the dishes several times, some cleaning and some really hot baths. Of course, as with all glittered texture polishes, when taking it off, it is harder to get rid of than the plague. Very impressed with the wear on this polish.
I bought Emotions from Amazon for £6.25 with £1.99 postage here, and this was the best price I could find it.
I really like this polish and this has now replaced OPI What Wizardry Is This? at the top of my favourites list, so I’ll probably be wearing this all Winter now.
