Born Pretty Textured Look Full Nail Water Decals

Full nail water decals are pretty much a pain in the ass for me, I’m so clumsy most of the time, that I find it very difficult to not rip or smoosh them. Me being me though, I keep punishing myself to try and improve with them.
I loved the look of these Born Pretty Store textured look full nail decals and really wanted to give them a go, they looked like a little packet of nail art.
On this sheet you get 2 of each different size and there are 6 different sizes in all. This basically gives you enough for each hand and 2 spares in case you royally mess any up.
So full nail water decals are pretty much the same as full nail wraps, they are pre-cut sizes and shapes and they cover your whole nail, if they are too big you can cut them down to size or use a clean up brush with some acetone or polish remover to tidy them up. Apart from the obvious water decal/sticker wrap difference, the main one to note is that water decals are much more fragile than wraps. With wraps you can stretch and pull them to fit the nail but with water decals you have to kind of smooth them gently.
That is where I tend to go wrong. I always, always end up messing them up somehow, but, even though this time was no different, I have improved a little.
Here is my main attempt. My index finger went a little bit wrong and looks a weird shape near the cuticle and if you look closely, you will see a large split on the ring finger nail and a few minor issues on other nails, but I’m fairly impressed with how well I did.
Talking about the decals themselves: in terms of water decals they are fantastic. They are quite thick for water decals giving them a little extra in the toughness department. They slid well off the backing after being in water for minimal time. There was no colour run and they were easy to place and manoeuvre into the right position quickly before they dried too much.
This photo shows them with a top coat of Seche Vite over them, when this was applied they did no wrinkle or curl which can sometimes happen with larger water decals.

I then removed 3 of the wraps (thumb, index and pinkie) and added some glitter and stamping. The decals were really easy to remove, they came off just like nail polish and with a few swipes of the cotton there was no sign of them.

Then I added a coat of OPI Matte top coat and wish I hadn’t taken any of the decals off because they look awesome once they are matte.
So all in all, the decals were great and my skill level is slowly but surely improving.
